Summer Research Fellowships

In order to promote diversity in STEM fields, Wren Scholars and students from backgrounds that are currently underrepresented in STEM fields will be eligible to apply for HHMI Summer Research Fellowships.  These fellowships provide the opportunity for students to work full time on campus with a William and Mary faculty member in mentored research in any STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) field.  Free on-campus housing as well as a $4,500 stipend is provided.  In addition to sponsoring full time summer research opportunities, the program will also host workshops on various topics relevant to STEM fields including:  science ethics; how to make science posters; how to present your data; applying to grad and med schools; quantitative skills.  The application will be available on this site in mid-February with a due date of March 3, 2017. The application will entail answering some basic questions regarding your career plans as well as a 1000 word project description. Once your application is submitted a letter of support will be automatically requested from your research advisor.
